Description

These caramelized peach fritters are the perfect blend of crispy, golden batter and warm, syrupy peaches. Fresh peaches are sautéed in butter, sugar, and cinnamon until beautifully caramelized, then folded into a light, fluffy fritter batter and fried to perfection. Each bite is soft on the inside with a slightly crisp exterior, finished with a touch of sweetness and warm spice. Whether served for breakfast, brunch, or dessert, these fritters are a delicious way to showcase juicy summer peaches in a comforting, bakery-style treat.

Ingredients

Caramelized Peaches

Fritter Batter

Glaze

Instructions

  1. Make Caramelized Peaches

In a medium pan, melt butter over medium heat. Add diced peaches, sugar, cinnamon, lemon juice, and salt.

  1. Bring to a gentle simmer and cook for about 5 minutes, until peaches are soft and caramelized.

  1. Remove from heat, separate the peaches from the liquid, and allow to cool. Reserve the liquid for the glaze.

Prepare the Batter

  1. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, ginger, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt.

  1. In another bowl, mix eggs, milk, vanilla, and melted butter.

  1. Combine wet and dry ingredients until just mixed, then gently fold in 1 cup of the caramelized peaches.

  1. Fry the Fritters

In a deep pot, heat 4–5 cups of oil to 375°F (190°C).

  1. Scoop about 1/3 cup of batter per fritter and carefully drop into the oil.

  1. Fry for about 3 minutes per side, or until deep golden brown and cooked through.

Transfer to a paper towel-lined plate or wire rack.

  1. Make the Glaze

In a bowl, whisk together powdered sugar, vanilla, and reserved peach juices.

Add milk gradually until you reach your desired glaze consistency.

  1. Finish & Serve

Drizzle the glaze generously over warm fritters and top with extra caramelized peaches if desired.

Serve immediately for the best texture and flavor.

Note

Tips & Notes

  • Use ripe peaches for the best sweetness and texture
  • Don’t overmix the batter—this keeps the fritters light and fluffy
  • Keep oil temperature steady at 375°F for even cooking
  • Fry in batches to avoid overcrowding
  • Adjust glaze thickness depending on how much you want it to drip or set

Serving Suggestions

These fritters are best served warm, fresh out of the fryer. Pair with coffee for breakfast or serve as a dessert with vanilla ice cream.
